Yesterday’s weather looked a bit iffy, with a grey sky and lots of humidity, but luckily it didn’t pour, and the Bike Jumble took place as scheduled. This bicycle flea market is held at Washington Park in Brooklyn every spring and fall, near the Old Stone House.
The Bicycle Jumble was the host of the NYC to Philly part of the Bicycle Messenger Race. I wish I was able to have gotten there earlier to see the riders take off. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=250101278346172
Taliah Lempert (www.bicyclepaintings.com) was present selling her beautiful notecards, caps, paintings, and has added some unique bicycle earrings to her inventory.
Also present were the folks from Dargelos, selling their innovative, safe and stylish bicycle accessories. I bought the Lightening vest from them at the spring Jumble. http://www.dar-ge-los.com/
Ironically, I didn’t find the one thing I was looking for (a bell for my Trek fx). Regardless, nice people, lots of bikes = a very pleasant afternoon! Link to Spring Jumble post: https://inspiredcyclist.wordpress.com/2011/05/15/bike-jumble-and-a-geranium-grows-in-brooklyn/
