Since I received this bike as a gift last May, I was looking for the just right basket.  I desired function as well as beauty, and found it in “Carrie”.  This beautifully designed basket will hold up to  11 pounds.  It has an attached shoulder strap, so you can easily take it off your bike and carry it into a market.  Or, better yet, to a picnic spot!  It’s stylish whether your route is city streets, or country roads!

This aesthetically pleasing basket was designed by Marie Louise Gustafsson based on the lace tablecloths her grandmother served home baked cookies on.  As a crocheter (and knitter) this back story added to its attractiveness!  And when you take the basket off your bike, and turn it over -you can envision a lovely table!

Below see photos of the bracket that enables you to easily slip Carrie off or on your handlebars.  The basket comes in white, green, and black.

I used this basket for the first time last Saturday riding along Park Avenue during NYC’s Summer Streets.  Carrie received quite a few shout outs along the way from admirers fans.

The always stylish and elegant Miss Sarah, of has been using one on her electra this month.  As always, she has stunning photos and even graciously included a tip for using zip ties, to further secure the basket.
