Bicycles = Happiness

A quote I read this morning fits so perfectly with my day yesterday  “It is better to travel well than to arrive.”  Buddha

My happy, upbeat mood resonated with me all day yesterday after my boardwalk ride.  Watching the sun rays glisten on the ocean and listening to the gentle swoosh of the waves is therapeutic and enlightening.  The clean, fresh scent of the ocean air permeated each inhale. Grey clouds seem to lift off everyone shoulders as they smiled and talked as they rode regardless of the clickety clack of the bumpy boards.

And so, this post is to continue the focus on the JOY of the RIDE.  Pedaling just for the sheer sake of enjoying each moment!   Mostly I ride solo, however I have two friends who accompany me at times.  And lately, two of my three sons have joined me cruising along the boardwalk. Solo or with a buddy, I know I’m either grinning or in deep thought.

*The son who just came home from college last night will not be riding with me in the near future, as he leaves for a trip to India today.  He spent a semester last year living in England, so while he hasn’t ridden locally – he has seen a lot of our world!

What type of ride brings you the most bliss?
