Last night the weather was perfect for walking in the city, as we went from Penn Station, to dinner, and then to see the live radio broadcast of Prairie Home Companion. I think the exhilarating walk, and yesterday’s ride made me determined to have a Sunday ride at sunrise.
I had trouble getting the pashley on the carrier, as the handlebars flew into my sternum, and I couldn’t locate a bungee cord for extra security. “Remixing” the belt to my trench jacket made me feel either like one of the fashionable academics http://www.academichic.com/ ,Kendie http://kendieveryday.blogspot.com/ , or possibly a little Macgyver like.
After my ride, I went to the local church. The theme of the homily was “Release your Limits”, and I think it can be applied to so many aspects of life – fearing those bumps and hills, or maintaining a balance. Gives me a lot to ponder at this point in my life.
So, despite the grey skies, this morning’s ride accompanied by the pink sunrise peaking through gives me reasons to smile in my own personal Lake Wobegon!
*Tandem Riders in Collage – I passed this Dad and daughter riding tandem on a bike path as I drove home – she has streamers on her handlebars…cute touch!
