The sun was shining and the sky was blue in the city today. Before I went to the bike shop, I walked over to Greenwich Street to check out the veggies, bread, and cheese at the Farmer’s Market. All of the foods are local, and many of the shoppers were loading up on scrumptious berries, peaches, lettuce and more. Bikes were equipped with baskets and panniers to carry home fresh food and flowers. One gentleman said his bike was from the 70s or 80s, and it still had his original Brooks leather seat. When I left the market I met a friendly, fun, cycling couple who were heading off after a quick bike repair to grocery shop. They are both originally from Europe, but now reside in Manhattan and get around on their bikes. Her De Fiestsfabriek , complete with the awesome cargo crate was stylish and sturdy. She brought it over from Amsterdam. So, while I didn’t cycle today, I enjoyed meeting others who did!
